  1. Average expression levels (±SEM) in dorsal spinal cord of itch-related neuropeptides and their receptors for mouse, rat and human are shown. Detectable expression of Grp, Grpr, Nmb, and Nmbr is seen in all three species. Tac1 is well expressed in spinal cord tissue [24], especially in the human. RPKM levels were determined by Rapid Unified Mapper (RUM) [9]. Annotation builds mm10, rn4, and hg19 were used, respectively, for the mouse, rat and human genome mapping. Dashes (-) represent values of 20 reads or below; this number of reads is too inaccurate for further consideration.
