- Total cell surface area in pixels2 was calculated from the three dimensional reconstructed images of GFAP- and OX42-immunopositive cells within the dorsal spinal cords of rats treated with saline, saline and morphine, propentofylline and morphine, or propentofylline alone. Data represent means ± s.e.m. for n = 12–20 cells per rat from n = 3 rats per experimental group. Statistical analyses were performed by one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's post-hoc multiple comparison test.
