Data are given as normalized fold expression, indicating the relative quantification of the qRT-PCR signal detected in hyposensitive subjects (n = 5) in relation to that detected in healthy donors (n = 30). Note that the significance (*) for the TRPV1 gene indicates an up-regulation in subjects affected by hyposensitivity to capsaicin, pain and thermal stimuli.
