GABA immunoreactivity in the GRPR neurons. Double-immunostaining was performed using anti-GRP-R antibody (in red, left column) and an antibody specific for GABAergic neurons (anti-GAD67 antibody, in green center column) in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), basolateral amygdale (BLA) and insular cortex (IC). A subpopulation of GRP-R immunoreactivity was detected in GABAergic neurons (arrows), merged in right column. (A) Upper panels show images from low-powered microscopy. Scale bar = 10 μm.
