Transient amplitude does not influence PMCA function. The recovery of [Ca2+]c from transients induced by application of high K+ solution (50 mM for 0.3 s) in thapsigargin-treated neurons was measured by recovery rate constant (τ) in control neurons (A) and neurons from the 4th lumbar (L4, B) and L5 dorsal root ganglia (C) after spinal nerve ligation (SNL). In each, transient amplitude did not influence τ (regression P of 0.16, 0.36, and 0.43 respectively). The best-fit trend line and coefficient of determination (R2) are shown.
