Drug effects on anxiety-like behavior and locomotion. Open-arm choice in the elevated plus maze (EPM) was measured for 5 min as the ratio of open-arm entries to the total number of entries expressed as % in sham controls (A) and arthritic animals (B). The combination of intra-BLA SB242084 (10 μM) and systemic fluvoxamine (30 mg/kg) had no effect in sham controls but increased the open-arm choice of arthritic rats significantly. *P < 0.05, compared to vehicle, one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s multiple comparison tests).
