Effect of soluble Dyn A on Mac-1-mediated cell adhesion to fibrinogen. a (left ordinate), calcein-labeled Mac-1-HEK293 cells were preincubated with different concentrations of dynorphin A (black bar), dynorphin B (open bar) or control peptide (gray bar) for 10 min at 22 °C and added to the wells of microtiter plates coated with 2.5 μg/mL fibrinogen. Cells were allowed to adhere for 30 minutes at 37 °C before removing nonadherent cells. Data are expressed as a percentage of control adhesion (in the absence of peptides) and are the mean ± S.E. of three individual experiments performed with triplicate determinations in each experiment. **p < 0.01; ns, no significant difference. b (right ordinate), Mac-1-expressing HEK293 cells were preincubated with dynorphin A and B as described in A, centrifuged for 5 min at 500 × g and fluorescence of supernatants was determined.
