(a, b, c, d) sst2A-LI is expressed in a dense plexus of processes in superficial layers in spinal dorsal horn (L4–5 segments) and in cell bodies in lamina I, II (many) and lamina IV (few). (a-a”) A few of the sst2A+ local neurons, mainly in the inner layer of lamina II, are galanin+ (arrows). (b-b”, c-c”) Many sst2A+ neurons express nNOS-LI in outer layer of lamina II (arrows). (d-f”) sst2A+ neurons are Y1R+ both in deeper layers (lamina IV; d-d” and e-e”; arrows) and superficial layers (f-f”; arrows). A few sst2A-IR neurons in lamina II are also SST+ (g-g”, arrows).
