In mice following CFA injection, both probability of transmitter release and number of available vesicles are increased in ACC synapses. In mice with nerve ligation, only probability of neurotransmitter release but not number of available vesicles increased in ACC synapses. Upregulated phosphorylation of GluR1 contributes to an increase of postsynaptic responsiveness in mice with nerve ligation.
