  3. Calcium imaging was used to monitor the change in [Ca2+]i after chemokines were applied to acutely dissociated DRG from sham or injured rats. The number of cells responding to MCP1 application increased significantly by 21 days after gp120/hCD4 and following the combination of gp120/hCD4 and ddC treatment. The number of cells responding to SDF1 application increased only after the combination of gp120/hCD4 and ddC treatments.
