Histological verification of drug application sites. Diagrams adapted from Paxinos and Watson [107] show coronal sections through the right hemisphere at different levels posterior to bregma (indicated by numbers). Next to each diagram are shown in detail the basolateral (BLA) and central nuclei (CeA) of the amygdala. The boundaries of the different amygdala nuclei are easily identified under the microscope (see Figure 1 in [45]). Each symbol indicates the location of the tip of one microdialysis probe.
