Day 3: Expression of immune cell markers in the MIA model. Relative changes in the transcript levels of GCSFR (A-C) and IBA (D-F) were measured in the MIA model compared to vehicle controls. Here GCSFR and IBA were used to measure neutrophil and macrophage infiltration respectively. No significant change was measured between MIA and controls in both cartilage (A) and the subchondral bone (C). However a significant increase in GCSFR expression was measured in the fat pad of MIA treated animals (B). With IBA1 a significant increase in expression was measured in the MIA group in both the cartilage (D) and fat pad (E). No difference was measured in the subchondral bone (F).
